Organization Description
Our team of passionate Catholic educators launched the Catholic Textbook Project in 2000 to create textbooks proceeding from the insight that mankind and history are transformed irrevocably by Christ and his Church. When history is illuminated by the light of the Gospel, it reveals both the triumphs and struggles of the past with honesty and moral insight. This allows students to discover the facts of history without prejudice or bias, encountering the full, rich, and dramatic story of human history.
Position Description
The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for effectively communicating the message and the mission of the Catholic Textbook Project. This role will execute key parts of our overall strategic marketing plan, which is crafted by our long-term marketing agency partner 5 Stones. This role will primarily focus on email marketing, while also owning and supporting projects in other marketing areas, including graphic design and social media. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this role will collaborate closely with both the CTP and 5 Stones teams.
Primary Responsibilities
Email Marketing

Draft and send regular communications via CTP’s email marketing platform, Mailchimp, including the This Week in History series

Manage CTP’s editorial calendar, coordinate review cycles, and collect input from various stakeholders

Guide efforts to manage and organize CTP’s email marketing lists

Leverage email analytics to better understand content performance and optimize email marketing
Graphic Design, Social Media, and Website Development

Collaborate with CTP and 5 Stones teams to identify and implement opportunities to augment CTP’s marketing efforts

Develop marketing materials for CTP’s curriculum, particularly related to graphic design

Grow CTP’s social media presence across LinkedIn, Facebook, X, and other platforms

Support the development and ongoing maintenance of CTP’s website

Assist with fundraising efforts as needed and as time allows

General Skills

Intuitive understanding of the Catholic Textbook Project’s mission, with ability to communicate it effectively, powerfully, and succinctly in written form

Excellent capacity to work independently and autonomously, particularly in a remote environment

Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines

Experience with managing multiple projects at once and the ability to adjust quickly to shifting priorities

Proactive professional who sees what needs to be done and works collaboratively within a team environment to accomplish it
Communications & Technical Skills

High proficiency and demonstrated experience with digital marketing, ideally utilizing Mailchimp
-
High proficiency and demonstrated experience in copyediting

Experience with graphic design and the development of marketing materials, ideally for a nonprofit or Catholic organization

Experience with the basics of website design and social media management

Proficiency in working with Google Sheets and Google Docs
