The Volumes

Your financial and prayerful support will make possible the writing and production of these materials – materials vitally important for the proper education and formation of today’s Catholic students. The first three volumes are complete and now in use in Catholic schools in all 50 states and in English-speaking schools in other countries.  The next two volumes are currently in production. .

Phase I Volume Descriptions

From Sea to Shining Sea: The Story of America
The story of North America—the Indian nations, European colonization, the founding and history of the United States up to the Civil War—told as a series of stories for young people, with thumbnail biographies, lives of the saints, maps, illustrations and other supplemental material.
Grade range: 5 to 9

All Ye Lands: World Cultures and Geography
Origins and stories of world peoples and cultures, European, African and Asian, with geography of the world, and lives of great men and women, from the dawn of civilization to today. Timelines, maps, charts, and illustrations give depth and context to the story.
Grade range: 6 to 9

A Light to the Nations: Development of Christian Civilization
The shaping of the Western tradition—prehistory, first civilizations, ancient Egypt, Israel, Greece, Rome, medieval Christendom. Illustrations, charts, and geography of the Mediterranean world. Lives of great men and women. Supplemental material, including documents, art, literature, poetry, and music, is included.
Grade range: 7 to 11

A Light to the Nations: Christian Civilization II
The growth and formation of the modern world, the transformation of medieval institutions, and the shaping of modern ideas of government and citizenship. World maps, music, art, literature and the lives of great men and women are presented.
Grade range: 7 to 11

One Nation, Under God: The American Achievement
A history of the formation and growth of the United States, the Constitution, present institutions of government, and the American character, with attention to concurrent history and geography of Mexico and Canada; the position in the world of the United States and of Catholics in the United States. Charts, maps, illustrations, and original documents supplement the text.
Grade range: 7 to 12
