Q – When will the next volume be ready for purchase? The next volume, A Light to the
Nations: Ancient to Medieval, is slated
for release 2008. Q - What can I use for my middle school in the interim? There is no single text we recommend. However, the following two suggested history material are excellent resources, depending upon your curriculum needs: Option A: Old World and America as a basic text to cover Greek and Roman History. This text can also be supplemented with a variety of books on Greece & Rome including The Children’s Homer, Greek Myths, Augustus Caesar’s World, Caesar’s Gallic Wars, and the Famous Men of Greece & Famous Men of Rome . Option B: Old World and America as a springboard text to cover Medieval History. This course may be supplemented with a variety of engaging books including The Story of the Church, Fingal’s Quest, Augustine Came to Kent, Son of Charlemagne, The Magna Charta, and Adam of the Road. Q – Will a Teacher’s Guide be printed as a complement to Volume 6 - All Ye Lands: World Cultures and Geography? Yes. The Teacher’s Manual for Volume 6: All Ye Lands: World Cultures and Geography is in stock and available for shipping. The Teacher's Manual for Volume 5 is already in print as well. Q – What is included in the Teacher’s Guide? The Teacher’s Guide includes outlines, timeline information, lists of key words and key people, quizzes, tests, chapter and chapter section synopsis', suggested related literature titles and other reference works for researc projects, summaries, extra activities, and other information. It also provides suggestions for breaking chapters into smaller sections. Q – When will another textbook be printed and for which grade level? Vol. 7, A Light to the Nations: Ancient to Medieval, is now in production, for release 2008. This textbook covers the shaping of Western tradition—prehistory, first civilizations, ancient Egypt, Israel, Greece, Rome through medieval Christendom. It is suitable for grades 7-11. Q – Will a Teacher’s Guide be printed to accompany Volume 7? Yesk. Q – When will other volumes be available? Volumes 8-9 are presently in development.
